If you have been waiting for the perfect time to upgrade to an all-electric vehicle, the time has arrived. Some of today's leading luxury automakers have recently introduced new all-electric models that will undoubtedly impress you. One of these is the 2020 Porsche Taycan, which is a 4-door sedan that pulls together exciting capabilities, sporty styling, and high-end features. Another option is the 2020 Jaguar I-PACE, which is a compact luxury crossover SUV. Which of these coveted vehicles is the best fit for you?

Any review of the Taycan to the I-PACE begins with a look at their exterior designs. The Taycan has the dimensions of a sedan, and this produces a spacious interior. It also has a low profile and ground-hugging design that is common with sports cars. When viewed from the front, the Taycan shows off a sharp, sloping hood that rounds perfectly around the bumper. It then fades into a black air portal that extends to the bottom of the façade. The dual-bar design in the LED headlights adds an exciting element, and this is elevated by the edgy design of the portal that they are set in—the swooping roof grades into the thin light bar that wraps around the rear. Quad exhaust tips finish the look. In comparison, the I-PACE for 2020 has a lowered, angled roof that carries to the extended rear end. Its cropped stance results in shortened side windows. Compared to the Taycan's sleek surfaces, the sharp accents on the sides and hood of the I-PACE stand out.

The interiors of these 5-passenger vehicles also show striking differences. The Taycan has a modern, luxurious feel that is defined by impressive materials and four digital screens across the dashboard. These include the driver's digital display screen with customizable gauges, which is mounted behind the heated steering wheel. It also consists of a multimedia screen placed over a second screen for the climate control system. These are placed in the center stack, and a beautiful analog clock sits over them for a decadent touch. On the right side, the front passenger has access to the fourth digital display screen on the front end. In the I-PACE for 2020, the multimedia screen placed at the top of the center stack is accompanied by air vents and rotary knobs. In the steep center console, several buttons and rotary controllers provide access to various aspects of the SUV's performance.

Both of these vehicles are proof that you do not have to forsake the power to drive an all-electric vehicle, but their performances are stunningly different. The Taycan for 2020 is outfitted with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, a recuperation management system, and an 800-volt performance battery. It can shoot you up to 60 miles per hour in only 3.8 seconds, and it also comes with launch control and an over-boost power system. In comparison, the I-Pace requires 4.5 seconds to get you up to 60 miles per hour. Its battery is connected to two permanent electric motors.

* Charging time for direct current (DC) with maximum charging power (5 to up to 80%). To achieve the stated charging time for corresponding state of charge range, the following is required: a CCS DC fast charging station with > 270kW and > 850V and a battery temperature range of 86°-95°F. For physical and chemical reasons, the charging speed decreases as the battery approaches its full capacity. Charging speeds over 80% state of charge are significantly slower and not recommended for daily use. For regular fast DC charging usage, we recommend charging at 50kW stations.
