The Porsche 911 is a sports car icon, undoubtedly as recognizable today as it was when the model was first introduced back in 1963. And lucky for us, we get to see the evolution of this icon happen before our eyes - as for the 2012 Porsche 911, there are actually two generations of the car on sale. The all new 2012 Porsche 911, which is longer, wider and lighter, is being sold along side the "old" Porsche 911 - which is virtually unchaged from the previous model year.
The new 2012 Porsche 911 differs from the old by including larger oval headlights, slimmer LED taillights, and flares for the wheel arches. What's new on the inside? A new center console that extends to the dash placing the gear selector closer to the steering wheel. Features include 19 inch wheels, xenon headlights, LED running lights, leather upholstery, touchscreen electronics, navigation system and more!
The 2012 Porsche 911 is powered by a rear mounted, horizontally opposed 6-cylinder engine - a tradition that goes back to the first 911. New models feature a standard 7-speed manual transmission (with a seven speed dual clutch automated manual available as an option). There are a variety of engines avaialbe in the Porsche 911 - for example the Carrera sports a 3.4L engine that produces 350 hp and 287 lb feet of torque.
